Compensation: $150,000–$350,000, based on experience
Vesel is rethinking how global logistics works—starting with the inbox. As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you won’t just write code. You’ll work directly with freight operators, sales teams, and carriers to deploy AI tools that automate quoting, extract insights from chaotic pricing history, and eliminate tribal knowledge from ops. This is a hybrid role at the edge of engineering, product, and customer success. You’ll be on the frontlines—shipping solutions that matter, fast.
What You’ll Do
- Build and deploy AI-powered automation into real customer workflows—think quoting from inbox to outcome.
- Embed with logistics teams, understand their pain, and turn chaos into structured systems.
- Develop production-grade software that integrates with CRMs, email clients, spreadsheets, TMSs, and everything in between.
- Prototype quickly, ship often, and stay close to customer feedback.
- Work directly with founders and early customers to push the boundaries of what’s possible in freight tech.

As a forward deployed engineer, your job is to bring intelligence to the point of decision—helping teams quote faster, price smarter, and win more freight.
What We’re Looking For
- 3–6+ years experience in engineering, ideally in startup, consulting, or systems-integration environments
- Strong full-stack or backend skills (Python preferred), and comfort working across APIs, databases, and email systems
- Experience building and shipping user-facing tools or internal automations with real-world constraints
- Fast learner, adaptable, and unafraid to work with ambiguity
- Deep curiosity about how the physical world moves
- Strong communicator with empathy for non-technical users
Bonus if you have:
- Exposure to the logistics, supply chain, or ERP space
- Prior experience in forward-deployed, sales engineering, or solutions architecture roles
- Worked with LLMs, automation agents, or document intelligence systems
